Working up an appetite

I love to eat. And sometimes I wish I was a football player so I'd have a reason to eat more. This, I would love to be a part of. From Tennessean.com:

The UT and Wisconsin players had a welcome dinner provided by Outback Steakhouse on Wednesday. Here's what they consumed: 5,500 pounds of food, including 750 pounds of steak and chicken, 900 ribs, 700 Caesar salads, 950 Bloomin' Onions, 1,300 slices of chocolate cake, 85 gallons of BBQ sauce, and 60 cases of soda and water.

Nine-hundred fifty Bloomin' Onions? Rough estimate here, but if you've got 85 players on each, that's 170 guys. That's about 3-4 Bloomin' Onions per player. I eat half of one and I'm about done.

Here's the biggest question: How much did Fat Phil Fulmer eat?

By the way, Tennessee and Wisconsin play on Tuesday in the, you guessed it, Outback Bowl. The game is at 11 a.m. on ESPN.

Outback's wings eliminate that overrated bloomin' onion.
